The change represented by Barack Obama is that he reflects and fulfills our desire for honesty.

BARACK OBAMA

... This is what is nurtured by Barack Obama, and when he says, "It is not about me. It's about you" we believe him, because we know how fed up we all are with the usual bullshit. He knows and we know how eager we are to find someone we can trust.

The media simply doesn't get it. But the heartening fact is that millions of us get how much the media doesn't get it! Mark Morford, (Friday, April 4, 2008, SF Gate), echoed this theme: "Nope, it's not what you might think. The best thing about Barack Obama has almost nothing to do with him as a person or as a leader or even as Oh My God The First Black President Who Could Really Change Everything I Mean Wow. It's not even the wondrous oratory power or the charisma or the sweet sense of deeper change overlaid with all kinds of sparkly utopian futuriffic goodness. There is, I think, something more. Something richer. And it's rather startling... Because the greatest thing about Obama isn't really about Obama at all, per se. It's actually about, well, us. This is the great revelation: We still got it. The collective unconscious, the deep sense of inner wisdom, that intuitive knowing that borders on a kind of mystical proficiency, where millions of people can actually look beyond rhetoric and media spin and merely feel the presence of something great in the room? Yep, still there. Who knew?"

Ain't it the truth! You and me and Alice Walker and Mark Morford and Barack Obama are on to something! Barack Obama believes we can handle the truth! He really gets how transforming transparency can be. He believes in telling the truth. He is demanding and telling the truth. He believes what he is saying and knows who he is talking to. In celebration of this social transformation I am going to document it. I am beginning a new book, the next in the Radical Honesty series, entitled: Radical Honesty: How to Transform the World by Telling the Truth. In editing this book, I hope to compile evidence of this wonderful emerging new adulthood where we demand and can stand the truth-and document how we build structures that encourage and reward honesty and maintain an ongoing vigilant resistance to the old fashioned corporate/business bullshit machine's never ending lies, con jobs, war for profit, secrecy, etc.

We are creating a society where it is no longer profitable to lie, where it becomes clear that the only way to really profit is by honesty, transparency, responsibility for constantly revealing what is actually so. Just think of it! Honest banking! A court system actually interested in the truth! An executive branch of government not shrouded in secrecy! Can we stand it? I hear Jack Nicholson yelling in the background, "You can't handle the truth!" Maybe, by God, we can. Along with Alice Walker and many others whose primary interest is in the truth, I endorse Barack Obama. It gives me great pleasure to contribute my time, attention, money, moral support and endorsement to our soon to be president, Barack Obama.
