Dear Fiends of Radical Honesty

I am happy and I hope you're happy and I can't wait to tell you how optimism seems to be emerging straight out of despair (instead of just alternating) for all of us these days! The world is beginning to heal itself, including humanity even, and the odds of our survival just went up 1%. To celebrate we have a new website at www.radicalhonesty.com and some new videos and we have now created The New School for Personal and Social Change, through which you can become a social activist instead of a psychological reactivist and help make our American Military Empire and all military empires obsolete!

The new, 2008 one year curriculum to train leaders for social change through Radical Honesty includes three, 3 day long workshops and a 3 day Festival and 7 day Trainer's training. Here is a verbal calendar for the year.

Item 1: SEPTEMBER 19-21

Level Two of the Curse in Honesty Workshop is September 19-21 in Stanley, Virginia at Sparrowhawk. If you have completed the eight day workshop or the Level One Curse in Honesty workshop, or its equivalent, you fulfill the pre-requisite for Level Two. If you are not clear about that, or you want to arrange a level one workshop for yourself before September, call us.

The cost is $500. Bring a sleeping bag and stay for free or you can overnight for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in a local hotel. If you bring a tent you can camp out right next to the Shenandoah River. We are about 2 hours from Dulles International Airport. You can rent a car if you like, or if you will schedule your arrival time to be sometime in the morning or afternoon of the 18th of September we will pick you up. Schedule your departure time for sometime on Monday after about 10 or 11 in the morning and we will give you a ride back to the airport. You can plan on leaving anytime on Monday, and you are welcome to stay an extra day or two if you want to enjoy the beautiful Shenandoah Valley at the best time of year to be there and hang out with the friends you have come to know and love.

We list this September event first in this calendar because it is the first choice you have to make before a March 30 deadline. We are asking for your commitment to participate in the level two workshop before March 30, because we are giving you reading and experiential and psychological homework and coaching and support in completing that homework prior to the workshop. The homework includes reading three books in the time between March 30 and September 17, watching some movies and doing some other things prior to the three day workshop.

To reserve your space in the workshop, and to begin the training program, readings and practices for becoming more present to be completed between Level One and Level Two, you have to give us a $250 non refundable deposit on or before March 30.

Item 2: JUNE 20-22

The Radical Honesty Festival and Reunion is on June 20-22 at Sparrowhawk Farm in Stanley Virginia This is free! And everyone is invited! And anyone can come, even if you have just read the book! We will figure out what where and how to eat and places to sleep and dance and sing once you get here. We will conduct a few Radical Honesty World Café’s on tremendously exciting topics and we will guarantee you a powerful experience of human co-intelligent, co-hearted genius. We promise you will be a genius that week end. It is free. Bring a sleeping bag and some money for food and drink and get yourself there. The Radical Honesty Festival and Reunion is a kind of World Café party.

Item 3: JUNE 23-30

The Radical Honesty Trainer’s Training is on June 23 through June 30. The fee is $1000. That covers room and board, workshop materials and coaching. You can come to that after you have completed at least level one of the Curse in Honesty series. You either come to the Festival just before the workshop, or come on June 22 to Dulles Airport and you will get picked up and we will also take you back there on the 30th after 4PM on that day, or the next day or day after that.

The Trainer’s Training is an intensive residential training where trainers and trainer candidates come to get certified and re-certified as a Radical Honesty Personal Growth and Social Change Agents. Trainers will learn how to conduct all three levels of the workshops and how to coach and do the homework in between. Certification includes therapeutic and social action training and requirements.

Item 4: NOVEMBER 21-23

The Level Three Curse of Honesty Workshop is scheduled for November 21-23, a couple of weeks after Election Day and the week end before Thanksgiving week end. We are doing this at this date on purpose, and we may have a paying job for you at the end of this training, working for us or for social change in the government or a NGO, with or without a change of geographical location. We can’t promise yet but we have plans that make that likely. Also, if you want to stay over at Sparrowhawk for Thanksgiving, you are welcome to do so. Whoever is there, we will throw in together and be thankful for what we can come up with. You will need to commit to level three at the end of level two, with a deposit and some promises about homework to be done between September and November.

This is going to be one hell of a year in a number of very exciting ways. We are the people we have been waiting for. We have all been framed. We have a way for all of us together to transcend how we have been framed. We have this dream of a whole bunch of brainwashed and psychologically screwed up dumb asses developing co-hearted, co-intelligent solutions to world wide social, psychological and economic problems together, and to bring about the overthrow of the government of the mind and the world at the same time. You may laugh. But we ask you; Whooo Haaaah!!??? Answering that is the first step of the program.

The New Radical Honesty workshop series has three levels, and is spread out over a year, with reading and homework in between the three sets of three day meetings. In addition to that, each year we have one Radical Honesty Reunion, and a week long Trainer's Training in June. If you have completed level one or its equivalent at any time, you proceed to level two in September.

The way things are supposed to go is this: After level one is completed, if you stay in for the next level, various reading and meditation assignments will be requested of you prior to attending the next training. If you enroll for level two, you give a $250 non refundable deposit and pay the additional $250 when we meet in September. There will be months between levels, and there will be ongoing coaching and mutual communication between and among participants and radical honesty trainers during that time.

THE BOOKS:

Read this book, and give copies away to friends and enemies: (1) Radical Honesty: How to Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth, by Brad Blanton, and any or all of the rest of my books. Read and give the books or the CD sets of me reading them with commentary to every lying person you know. You and the people you give them to can hear the books read aloud to you in your cars while you are polluting the atmosphere and making lying fascists who kill for profit richer by the minute.

Read and give this book too: (2) The Presence Process, by Michael Brown. This is an excellent book that condenses and puts into practice the essentials of training necessary to transform your way of being in the world. And do the presence process, a daily meditation and study practice over the first 10 weeks after you read the book, and it will help you get your head out of your ass, be joyful and learn to contribute to others for your own and their mutual benefit as an ongoing source of joy. The ten weeks of twice daily meditations and contemplations will be included in our year long training, in a repetitive cycling of that content.

(This work allows us to go from personal work and inner silence to social action and back to silence again and back to the world again. As Krishnamurti said, "The observer is the observed. You are the world. Silence is difficult and arduous; it is not to be played with. It isn't something that you can experience by reading a book, or by listening to a talk, or by sitting together, or by retiring into a wood or a monastery. I am afraid none of these things will bring about this silence. This silence demands intense psychological work. You have to be burningly aware of your snobbishness, aware of your fears, your anxieties, your sense of guilt. And when you die to all that, then out of that dying comes the beauty of silence." (In As the River Joins the Ocean (1998): spoken in London, 1962). Out of that beautiful silence comes social change. This silence is precisely what Michael Brown's book and the work in workshop is about. I would like for this next couple of year's development to be a collective creation, flowing out of this beginning outline, and developing into an ebb and flow life of compassionate action and renewal for billions of us.)

Read and give (3) The End Game, by Derrick Jensen, a brilliant writer who sees civilization itself as a fundamental mental illness and perversion of humankind. This furthers the conversation and moves us to action together to depose those who impose upon us and give them a new chance at life.

Read and give (4) The Great Turning, by David Korten, a brilliant analysis of progress being made to recreate the stories we live by and a devastating analysis of the failure of previous stories. This is the source conversation for changing how the world works and converting hell to heaven, doom to prosperity and hatred to forgiveness, compassion and love.

You can read and do the practices of these four books and a few others and a bunch of movies and video we also can recommend to you, on your own. You can also join up with some of the rest of us who are practicing how to remove our heads from our asses, and we can use our new understanding and alignment with each other to change the world-maybe even in time to keep our fellow miserable dumb asses from killing off humanity and most of the rest of the species of beings on earth.
