This workshop is less than a third of the usual price we charge (which is $2500 for 8 days). It is not as intense as the usual 8 Day Radical Honesty workshop but a little more than the usual Radical Honesty 3 Day workshop. Although the curriculum is concentrated and intensive during the first 7 hours of the day, it is in the overall context of radical honesty workshops, a fairly easy going leisurely activity along with some work in maintaining the center where it is held. The more focused work will be in the mornings from 7:30 AM up until about 2 PM. After that we have a siesta, go to the beach and hike and swim and talk amongst ourselves and in the evenings we get some supper together together and do maintenance for a couple of hours. Some nights we will go drink and dance and play backgammon and hang out with each other and some local greeks in the village.

You make all the arrangements with the Kalikalos center and they have information also on cheap flights and give an early bird discount for reservations 90 days in advance. You have about a month to take advantage of that. Come on in! The water's fine!

Resistance Resisters

It's time to lead, follow, or get out of the way

"ANOTHER 120 SPECIES went extinct today; they were my kin. I am not going to sit back and wait for every last piece of this living world to be dismembered. I'm going to fight like hell for those kin who remain--and I want everyone who cares to join me. Many are. But many are not. Some of those who are not are those who, for whatever reason, really don't care. I worry about them. But I worry more about those who do care but have chosen not to fight. A fairly large subset of those who care but have chosen not to fight assert that lifestyle choice is the only possible response to the murder of the planet. They all carry the same essential message--and often use precisely the same words: Resistance isn't possible. Resistance never works.

Meanwhile, another 120 species went extinct today. They were my kin.

There are understandable personal reasons for wanting to believe in the invincibility of an oppressive system. If you can convince yourself the system is invincible, there's no reason to undertake the often arduous, sometimes dangerous, always necessary work of organizing, preparing to dismantle, and then actually dismantling this (or any) oppressive system. If you can convince yourself the system is invincible, you can, with fully salved conscience, make yourself and your own as comfortable as you can within the confines of the oppressive system while allowing this oppressive system to continue. There are certainly reasons that those in power want us to see them as invincible. Abusive systems, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, from the familial to the social and political and religious, work best when victims and bystanders police themselves. And one of the best ways to get victims and bystanders to police themselves is for them to internalize the notion that the abusers are invincible and then, even better, to get them to attempt to police anyone who threatens to break up the stable abuser/victim/bystander triad.

And meanwhile, another 120 species went extinct today.

But those who believe in the invincibility of perpetrators and their systems are wrong. Systems of power are created by humans and can be stopped by humans. Those in power are never supernatural or immortal, and they can be brought down. People with a lot fewer resources collectively than any single reader of Orion have fought back against systems of domination, and won. There's no reason the rest of us can't do the same. But resistance starts by believing in it, not by talking yourself out if it. And certainly not by trying to talk others out of it...Some people may be willing to give up on life on this planet without resisting. I'm not one of them." I am an ally of Derrick Jensen. I have joined the resistance. I have been a resistance resister myself but I have been working at giving up on giving up. I invite you to join. My friends and I are already doing some things to undercut, undermine, undermind and underthrow the government. These are small, conscious living, resistances. Here are a few things we are doing for some examples: (1) We are screening everything we do to keep from giving any more money to any big corporations. (I canceled my Anthem Blue Cross health insurance when the fuckers defeated the public option on health care and I will refuse to buy health insurance from the kill for profit corporations by government mandate created by the government they fucking bought and I encourage everyone I know to do the same.) (2) I sold my house and some of my land and I live in a Yurt and I no longer have a mortgage, and no God damned home insurance. (3) I quit buying at Walmart unless I can steal something from them at the same time. (4) I only buy gas from small oil companies. (5) I don’t ever pay retail anywhere when I travel. I don't pay taxes (I pay somebody to lie to the government for me instead, just like rich people do). (6) I maintain a bad credit rating as a matter of integrity. If my credit score gets good enough that a bank would approve a credit card for me I do something to fuck some big company out of something I want in order to get my credit score down to where it ought to be. (7) I use only debit cards and I screw as many big corporations out of as much money as I can. (8) I bought a used Prius and sold my pickup. (9) I work in the garden with friends here in our group called Sustainable Shenandoah and we can and freeze and eat food we grow. (10) I eat deer meat and other game and a lot of raw vegetables grown locally or right next to my Yurt or in our community garden. (11) I have become a "loan guppy" to undermine loan sharks by using the rest of the money I made on selling my house to loan money to people I know to pay off credit card debt, at a rate that is a third to a half the interest they have been paying, yet still more than the fucking banks will give me for using my money. (12) I help people "negotiate" with debt to big corporations by telling said corporations to go fuck themselves as an opening gambit. (13) I am sponsoring a contest among my friends where we compete to see who can make debt collector folks hang up on us! (We start telling the poor person calling to collect for their corporate masters to quit that job and take up something that contributes to other people's happiness, and give up that miserable and misery making job). (14) All my christmas gifts this year and from now on are donations to non-profit charities for feeding and healthcare and housing for children in poverty in the name of the kith and kin I am giving the presents to. (15) I am writing a book, also to be released this year, The Korporate Kannibal Kook Book, a recipe book on how to cook corporate cannibals so we can love our enemies in a new way. This book is my opening Delaration of the War on Wealth as the way to win the War on Poverty!! (Roughly 2011 to 2012) I am quitting eating Tuna and will no longer eat at sushi restaurants and am quitting fish and red meat altogether and eating chicken only when I know it is free range. I invite you to do the same.

This barely scratches the surface of what me and my friends are doing in our evolution of revolution projects and enterprises. There are dozens of fun, entertaining, exciting, adventurous and good to do when stoned or imbibing in other joyfully illegal activity things that are fun and destructive to right wingers and fundamentalists of all ilk! It is invigorating and it is good exercise and it is a walking meditation for liberation to save our nation and change the station of those suffering occupation by corporate constipation. We have things to offer here that are terribly destructive and dangerous to the status quo and the freaks of the past currently in control of the present.

I will be sending this newsletter out on a regular basis now with new articles every month on ways to resist and offers of tools for resistance, and information about the take down of the system of rich people running everything carelessly for profit. All the news printed in a fit!
