(1) Radical Honesty: How to Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth, by me, Brad Blanton, about how the primary cause of most depression, most conflict, most anxiety, most psychosomatic illness and most suffering in the world is from each of us being trapped in the jail of our own minds. What keeps us there is lying, and we all lie like hell all the time. This is an excellent book that condenses and puts into practice the essentials of training necessary to transform your way of being in the world so that you are more capable and powerful in being present to your experience in your body and in the world moment to moment. Do the presence process, a daily meditation and study practice, over the course of 10 weeks, coached by the book. This book will help you settle down and pay attention better. Then you can keep using the book and doing the process. Then give this book and Radical Honesty to other people constantly, until the whole world changes for you and them too.
(3) Read and give away EndGame, by Derrick Jensen, a brilliant writer who sees civilization itself as a fundamental mental illness and perversion of humankind. He begins by heartlessly depressing the hell out of you while at the same time inspiring you to action because he is so God damned right on. His clear analysis of the failure of civilization will leave you lost and cheerfully in despair like a drunken injured pitiful creature hit by a car and on it's last legs before dying yet staggering on carelessly, even ecstatically, toward the equally dangerous possibilities of dying and of painful healing looming in it's hopeless future. (End Game is really two volumes, End Game I, and End Game II (Resistance)) It may be the most life changing 900 pages you will ever read. We only sell you volume one, and leave it up to you to buy the second one.
(4) Finally, read and give away The Great Turning, by David Korten, a brilliant analysis of the progress being made to uncreate the stories we have lived by, and recreate the new stories we can live by. Though it includes a devastating analysis of the failure and dead end future of previous stories we have lived by, it offers a real opportunity to turn things around.
