Workshop led by Radical Honesty CEO, founder of Honesty Lab, and Certified Trainer, John Rosania and Certified Trainer, Michael Kolb

6-Day Radical Honesty Workshop in the Costa Rican Jungle

Join certified Radical Honesty Trainers John Rosania and Michael Kolb for this immersive, truly transformational workshop in beautiful Central America and experience a radical, close-to-nature retreat in the heart of the stunning Costa Rican jungle.

This Radical Honesty workshop will take place at Cascada Elysiana, a beautiful, self-made eco lodge, surrounded by pristine green nature, waterfalls, and breathtaking hiking trails. Just 25 minutes from Dominical, the famous surfing hotspot, this location is a perfect fit for what we understand as Radical Honesty – to come back to the source of your experience.

Together we will learn how to create deeply nourishing relationships and connect with one another in a truthful, compassionate way. We will learn how to be fully present and experience all feelings as they arise. We will speak about what’s been difficult in our lives and learn specific techniques to get over past hurt, shame, fear, or anger. We will reconnect with our creative powers and learn how to cooperate with others to build our dreams.

In addition, we will have plenty of time to explore our surroundings, go hiking in the jungle, or explore the nearby waterfalls. The afternoons are meant for you to enjoy yourself and meet your fellow truthtellers outside of the formal circle.

Do you want to transform your life at the core and see nature like never before?

Learn how to:

  • notice and express whatever arises in your body

  • leave the past behind for good and live fully in the present

  • repair broken relationships with parents, children, partners, and friends

  • create your future based on your heart’s desires

  • let go of shame, fear, and resentment

  • lead nourishing, supportive relationships

  • play more and worry less

  • stay grounded in the moment and speak based on your current experience

The Agenda

Participants will sleep in simple yet comfortable beds and share rooms as part of the workshop group experience. Three delicious, vegetarian or vegan meals will be served every day. The formal part of the workshop will start in the mornings at 8 am with physical movements, such as yoga, tai chi, or walking meditations in the jungle. Around 9.30am, just after breakfast, we will get together and sit in a circle for Radical Honesty theory, group and paired exercises, guided conversations, and hotseat work.

We will break for lunch at 1.30pm and enjoy the rest of the afternoon outside in nature. You can use this time to meditate, do yoga, swim, hike, read, converse with the other participants or do whatever you want to do. On some days, we will have guided excursions to the nearby water holes, beaches or the local farmers markets.

The evenings are reserved for adventure walks, meditation, relaxation, and yoga.

Each night, 1 or 2 participants will share their life story with the rest of the group for one hour each. We will talk about each life story in detail the morning after.

The price includes accommodation and three simple, healthy meals per day. It also includes all extracurricular activities, such as trips to local farms and waterholes. Participants can stay in a shared dorm or private tent. The private tents are $1890, dorm is $1650 and tenting is $1490 (must bring your own tent).

About Cascada Elysiana

Mountain Hiking

The trails carved through our orchards and forests are quite beautiful. Most of them, such as our cacao orchard, are overgrown, giving them a primeval feel. This doesn't make for good cacao production, but does create a unique setting and the fruit that we're unable to use is great for the troop of White-Faced Monkeys that lives in the area.

Waterfalls & Pools

Cascada Elysiana Waterfall is simply stunning. She's temperamental, at times rushing and powerful, at times lazy and misty, depending on the rainfall filling the aqueducts that feed her. Whatever her mood, the setting is wonderful, seemingly artist-designed.

Relax & Meditate

We've designed Cascada Elysiana to be as tranquil and relaxing as possible. We don't allow automobiles (other than service vehicles) in the interior of the finca. All guest vehicles are parked at the entrance and the hike to the campground is about 6-8 minutes, enough to block almost all sounds from the road. Deeper into the finca, near the waterfall, you will never see a light nor hear a sound that isn't nature-made.

When exactly will the workshop start and end and when should I fly in?

We recommend you fly into San Jose on Friday, May 17th and stay the night or fly in early May 18th and arrive before noon. We will all bus together at noon to the location (4 hours away.)

The evening of Saturday, May 18th, we’ll settle in, eat, and do an introductory circle. We’ll get to know each other, and get acquainted with the property and important information on safety and outdoor behavior.

The workshop will officially start on the morning of Sunday, May 19th. The last full day is Friday, May 24th.

We will have a van drive back to the airport early Saturday, May 25th. We will support you in getting to the property and back to the airports.

Can I stay a bit longer or arrive a day or two earlier?

Yes. You are invited to enjoy the finca and the all of the natural surroundings with us and spend a couple of extra days. Please let us know in advance and send a message with your plans.

“Radical Honesty has been profoundly instrumental in helping me reshape my view of the world, how I see myself in it and how I choose to move through it, especially in relationship to another human being. This experiential practice of self-exploration while in contact with another person has helped me confront my Self in a way that I had been avoiding for many years by attempting to ’go it alone’ with meditation and self-study.” -Mak

Mak has a BA in Psychology and is a certified Radical Honesty Trainer. Since 2015, he has been a trainer-in-training under the guidance of Radical Honesty founder, Dr. Brad Blanton, and RH Master Trainer, Taber Shadburne.

Mak is committed to helping people develop the skills needed to live life out loud, to mend and build (and sometimes end) meaningful relationships and to ground themselves in experiential reality. He is particularly interested in the problems of existentialism, couples work and open relationships, confronting the Self and dealing creatively with anger and conflict. He lives and works in Los Angeles and is a founding member of a community that is building an Eco-Lodge/Retreat Center in San Juán de Diós, Costa Rica.

“It is difficult to transition into adulthood in a world full of adolescents. This practice of Radical Honesty has been the most important work I've done in my personal journey of growing up and I'm hungry to surround myself with others who want to embark on this journey with me. There's a whole lot of road left for us to travel.”
