Our Daily Rhythm and Agenda

Each morning, before breakfast, we’ll do an (optional) session of yoga and meditation.

8:30 AM: We’ll eat breakfast – fresh fruits, locally-made bread, real Greek yogurt, and organic porridge. As part of the workshop, we will all help out with food preparation.

9:30 AM till 1:30 PM:  Radical Honesty group session

1:30 PM: Lunch

After lunch, we’ll be free to hike through the lush green forest, lay on a white sandy beach, swim in the Aegean Sea, chill at the village tavernas, lounge in the hammocks, talk amongst ourselves, apply what we learned in the morning sessions. You can co-create extracurricular sessions and the trainers or helpers might offer additional evening activities.

6 PM to 8:30 PM is community time, when 2 or 3 of our group will garden and cook together, or help later on with the clean-up. Dinner will be served at 8:00, and after eating we can talk, dance, sing, drink, play and hang out. We can practice being radically honest with each other and converse about how we can live our lives in love and in contribution to others.

Further Goals of this Retreat

We will focus on community building by fine-tuning the way we express ourselves within the group: how do you ask for what you want? How do you get what you don’t want? How do you create the reality for yourself that serves you and how you sabotage your relations?

In this retreat, we will strengthen your ability to quickly move past obsessive thinking into a deep connection with your surroundings. Further, by doing hot-seat work we support you to integrate parts that you have been hiding from yourself. As a result of the retreat setting, we will spend more time on personal interactions and go beyond resentments and appreciations to uncover a wider spectrum of experiences. You will leave this retreat with new honest friends, uncompromised inner comfort to be as you are, lightness of being and more clarity on how to become a powerful creator of your own life.

Frequent Questions

Weather

We will be in Greece during August. Expect perfect summer weather and warm temperatures. You have the afternoons off to walk to the beach (12 mins) or explore the nearby waterfalls, taverns, forests, or caves. At night it sometimes thunderstorms, which is amazing to watch from the plateau we are living on.

Lodging

You will stay at a beautiful Greek mountain house, nestled between lush green hills and surrounded by olive trees. We are 15 walking minutes away from the beach. You will be served three delicious, vegetarian locals meals every day. You will stay with one other participant in a room. There are limited options for discounted tent spots and single rooms in a nearby guest house.

How to get there

All ways will lead you Volos. Volos is one hour away and has an airport (with limited international flights). You can also fly into Athens or Thessaloniki and take a 3-4 hour bus from there to Volos. This is what most people do. From Volos, you can either share a taxi directly to the house (about 55 Euros) or take a 3-5 Euro local bus that will take you to Agios Ioannis. We will support you with your travels by creating an arrival sheet two months before the workshop. This way you can connect with your fellow participants before the workshop.

When exactly does the workshop start and end?

You will arrive at the venue on the 5th of August and we will get together in the evening. We will end the workshop in the morning of the 12th with a final circle and breakfast. Please plan your trip to be present the whole entire time.

Workshop Leaders

Marvin Schulz, M.Sc., is one of the most experienced Radical Honesty Trainers and organizes workshops in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. As a former auditor for investment banks in New York and Executive Assistant for a multi-billion dollar company on Broadway, Marvin experienced the detrimental effects of lying and withholding first hand: at age 26, he was depressed and burned out.

“I had a promising career in front of me. However, I felt horrible and empty. None of the money I made could compensate for my inner yearning for love, connection and a happy life. After deciding not to kill myself, I opted for a Radical Honesty Workshop. After that, I still killed myself, but in a very different way: I killed my self-image and completed my past.”

He left the corporate rat wheel and embarked on his journey towards a more authentic, joyous, and connected life. He moved back to Germany and healed his own wounds by having honest conversations with important people. He cleaned up his past using Radical Honesty. Dr. Blanton invited Marvin to live at his place in Virginia for one season and certified him as a Radical Honesty trainer three years later.

Marvin has the ability to bring humor into seemingly serious processes while staying compassionate and curious. He is comfortable going into discomfort and can guide participants in re-experiencing hurt and pain while holding them in the here and now. His style is inquisitive, simple, and direct – often with a wink and never without compassion. Marvin has lived in China, Mexico, South Africa and the United States and studied cross-cultural communication. He currently resides in Prague, Czech Republic, where he produces music, drinks coffee and enjoys what he often calls the most beautiful city in the world. Michael Kreuzwieser

I’ve been a Radical Honesty Trainer since 2020. I began the practice in 2015, and I've shifted a lot of things in my life since then.

After spending most of my life being trapped in my mind-made suffering and becoming an expert in lying and pretending, I was (and still am) exploring over the last 12 years how to live more embodied, honest, empowered, and in alignment with deep personal values.

I am trained in Somatic Bodywork and I am a certified Forrest Yoga™ teacher, learned the basics of Gestalt therapy and I am trained in transformational group processes. I have spent a lot of time with Yoga, dancing, and embodiment practices to enjoy and to figure out what really makes me feel alive and in flow.

Besides Radical Honesty, I primarily create experiential spaces to discover how to be a playful embodied and sovereign being and experience more intimacy, love, and freedom.

I also offer intensive 1:1 coaching and relationship counseling for couples.

Gabriela Schenker

I want to write "the right thing" about me and I don't know what "the right thing" is. Because I don't know who you are, the one who will read this text later. I don't know what you would want to read about me. I am many.

I imagine that I want to be inspirational & exciting so that (in case you're still in doubt about signing up) after my introduction you will say, "Hell yeah, I'm signing up."

Fuck! Such a long intro...

I became a Trainer Candidate because my life has gotten a lot hotter thanks to Radical Honesty; because I would like to surround myself with people who expect themselves and me; because I would like to pass on a part of my "privilege". The privilege of becoming more and more myself. To perceive all emotions in their actual intensity (the sometimes uncomfortable part at the beginning), to experience them disappearing on their own and suddenly I am able to do things that I never thought possible.
