An incredible 8-Day journey into the depths of your being

Join a group of courageous truth-seekers on an incredible journey to grow into the most authentic version of yourself. Radical Honesty is a straightforward way to getting real and connected in ways you did not think were possible.

In these intense and transformative 8 days you get to be completely honest about your true thoughts and feelings. With the support of the group, you can open up, come out of hiding and free yourself from constant thinking and control. You get to be seen, heard and understood, and to connect to other people who tell the truth about their lives.

As the days progress, you get to know yourself better and you can reconnect with lost parts of yourself. You can gently soften the armor you have created based on past hurt and shame. Then, instead of protecting yourself, you can experience full presence, aliveness, and genuine connection. Telling the truth in a supportive environment can help you outgrow habits that don’t serve you anymore and reclaim the power to lead a life of choice.

The 8-Day Intensive is a work of genuine love and care during which you set your energy free and unleash your potential to create the life and relationships that work for you.

What’s included in this?

  • 8-days and 8-nights of Radical Honesty with 3 experienced facilitators

  • Healthy vegetarian breakfast buffet, snacks, lunch and dinner

  • Beautiful hikes, stunning landscapes, lake, waterfalls, and a swimming pool

  • Conscious movement, yoga & meditation every morning

  • 2 post-workshop Zoom sessions to help you integrate the practice

During our 3-hour-long afternoon break you can relax by the beach, explore nearby waterfalls, or just continue practicing Radical Honesty with newly made friends.

Note: If you’re interested in participating in a future Radical Honesty Trainer’s Training (TT), attendance at the 8-day intensive workshop is a prerequisite for attending the TT.

The Deep Dive into the World of Radical Honesty

This 8-Day Intensive Residential Workshop is the complete Radical Honesty immersion – the only format including naked work and life stories. For eight full days, you’ll get to experience yourself in a raw and vulnerable way, learn to create real connections, make true friends, enhance your aliveness, and work on letting go of the past and design your future.

The trainers will support you in:

  • Being completely and compassionately honest

  • Letting go of shame, fear and attachment to approval

  • Feeling your own body and expanding bodily awareness

  • Staying comfortable with the uncomfortable - expanding your comfort zone

  • Asking for what you want - increasing your capacity to give & receive

  • Getting over anger, guilt and obsessive thinking

  • Healing personal relationships and experiencing whole-body forgiveness

  • Living out loud - laughing, crying, yelling, smiling and completely changing your life as you know it

Pelion, Greece.

The workshop will take place in the beautiful, green Pelion area. According to Greek mythology, this is where the gods came for their vacation. We can see why. You will wake up to an amazing sunrise over the sea, surrounded by lush green mountains. The water is crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling. The place vibrates with aliveness in summer.

Our house is an old traditional mountain house with its own fig trees, olive trees, grapes, and berries. You will share a room with one other participant. Every room is equipped with its own shower and toilet.

The Schedule

We will begin each day with conscious movement meditation, followed by breakfast and a morning session of teaching, group conversations and paired exercises. We will then have a healthy lunch and an afternoon siesta. After the break, we will continue working with “hot seat” work, teaching, meditation, movement or dancing, and more paired and small group exercises.

Life Stories

After dinner, one by one, each person will spend about 45 minutes telling the whole story of their life. This will be video recorded. By the time the workshop has ended, each participant will have told their own life story and will have heard the telling of everyone else’s. Each person will also receive a copy of their Life Story video recording. They can later watch the video with their parents, (ex-)partners, siblings, lovers and friends with whom they have unfinished business in life and use the video-watching as a way to start honest conversations and create connection.

The Naked Work

On the fifth or sixth day, we’ll all get naked. This work will be video recorded. One at a time we’ll stand in front of the group and talk about what we like and don’t like about our body. We’ll also tell our sexual histories: when we first discovered we were a sexual being, when we first masturbated, how and with whom we like to have sex, how many sexual partners we’ve had, our favorite and least favorite sexual experiences, and so on.

Though we’ll probably get embarrassed, with good coaching and complete sharing of the truth and support from the group we will face our shame/fears/taboos—and get over them.

People often presume that Naked Work is some sort of “sexy” experience.

Usually, the experience is anything but sexy. Mostly the naked work is about embarrassment and shame and suffering – and about how our avoidance of those aspects of ourselves controls our lives. Quite often, the participants who, beforehand, scare themselves the most about doing this exercise are the very ones who benefit the most from it!

Then, together, we’ll review the videos of our Naked Work. One by one, each person will sit in front of a television screen and observe their video while receiving feedback about it. For some people, the process of watching oneself on a screen, naked, while talking about their sex life can be a more confrontational process than the original experience of standing naked before the group. Again, the willingness to face the experience and live through it can provide a decrease in the intensity of the sensations related to shame/embarrassment and a change in perspective on one’s own life in the direction of compassion for oneself as well as compassion for others. And then, most likely, we’ll appreciate ourselves and others for doing this work and live more fulfilling lives with less shame about ourselves and our bodies.

Falling in Love with Everyone

As you can imagine, by the sixth or seventh day, people will have gotten to know themselves and each other pretty well. What happens—and it happens again and again with very diverse groups of people—is pretty much the same each time: everyone falls in love with everyone else. Now, isn’t that a hell of a thing?

Imagine all the time and energy we have wasted putting on acts and pretending to be someone we’re not in hopes that others will love us for our performance, when actually what we needed all along was to drop the act and tell the truth—and be ourselves!

Brad Blanton—Radical Honesty founder—on the 8-Day Intensive Workshop:

“The 8-Day workshop is an experiential course in living out loud, increasing your capacity for intimacy and creativity, and living your life on purpose, instead of residing in the jail of your mind and reacting to life’s circumstances while believing you’re in control.

“In our workshops, we get together to make some agreements about what we will do together for the next nine days. One of the most important agreements is that we will tell the truth to each other completely for the next nine days. If that was all that occurred, and there were no other agenda whatsoever, the course would be powerful because the power of that agreement alone is incredible.”

Here’s what former workshop participants say about the leaders:

I attended a weekend Radical Honesty workshop in Berlin, where Marvin was the facilitator. I imagine his style of leading the workshops and guiding participants in the exercises is similar and loyal to the founder Brad Blanton's approach, and I appreciate him for that. If you're interested in attending a workshop led by Marvin, I suggest that you don't hesitate and overthink and just do it. I recommend his work and commitment to practicing Radical Honesty. I have also become his friend since meeting him through workshops.” Morgana from New York

Over the course of my life as a counselor, coach and hypnotherapist, I’ve attended at least a hundred workshops. The Radical Honesty weeklong-workshop with Marvin in Greece is definitely in the top drawer of all my workshop experiences. Some of the techniques that I saw practised in this workshop will be useful additions to my repertoire of communication skills.  For example, “I appreciate you for…”, “I resent you for…”, “I imagine that you…”.  These techniques really enhance the honesty in human interactions. When it comes to my own radical honesty I am now a confirmed “RadHon”. Richard from Ottawa

“I’ve been to multiple workshops run by Dr. Brad Blanton and others. From each one I’ve become more direct, awake and connected with the people in the workshops and people in my home life. The workshop led by Marvin was the best weekend workshop I’ve been to and I’ll be going back for more with him in 2019. If you’re thinking to go to a workshop to see what the Radical Honesty fuss is all about, Marvin Schulz embodies and teaches with clarity, passion, vigor and humour, and you’ll be lead through your own ways of being unusually honest by a leader with great skill, who fuses compassion and real power.” Alex from Bristol

We understand that such agreements, Radical Honesty and/or the 8-day intensive program can bring up feelings of doubt and fear, therefore, we recommend you reading Brad Blanton’s books Radical Honesty and/or contact us and have a chat about the things that might be getting in the way for you to make a decision.

Watch Marvin and other trainers discuss the Radical Honesty 8-Day Intensive in Costa Rica:

About the Trainers

Marvin Schulz, M.Sc., is one of the most experienced Radical Honesty Trainers and organizes workshops in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. As a former auditor for investment banks in New York and Executive Assistant for a multi-billion dollar company on Broadway, Marvin experienced the detrimental effects of lying and withholding first hand: at age 26, he was depressed and burned out.

“I had a promising career in front of me. However, I felt horrible and empty. None of the money I made could compensate for my inner yearning for love, connection and a happy life. After deciding not to kill myself, I opted for a Radical Honesty Workshop. After that, I still killed myself, but in a very different way: I killed my self-image and completed my past.”

He left the corporate rat wheel and embarked on his journey towards a more authentic, joyous, and connected life. He moved back to Germany and healed his own wounds by having honest conversations with important people. He cleaned up his past using Radical Honesty. Dr. Blanton invited Marvin to live at his place in Virginia for one season and certified him as a Radical Honesty trainer three years later.

Marvin has the ability to bring humor into seemingly serious processes while staying compassionate and curious. He is comfortable going into discomfort and can guide participants in re-experiencing hurt and pain while holding them in the here and now. His style is inquisitive, simple, and direct – often with a wink and never without compassion. Marvin has lived in China, Mexico, South Africa and the United States and studied cross-cultural communication. He currently resides in Prague, Czech Republic, where he produces music, drinks coffee and enjoys what he often calls the most beautiful city in the world.
